I am experienced in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) values based work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills based work. The combination of skills best suited will be tailored to the needs of the individual. These are referred to as Evidenced Based Practices described by the APA as ‘the integration of the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of patient characteristics, culture and preferences’. Increasing a person’s insight into symptoms, identifying the goals they want to achieve, addressing patterns of their behaviors and it’s impact, identifying triggers or vulnerabilities and providing psycho- education are standard aspects of our work together. I will work with you in order to increase coping skills with the complicated emotions and situations in the future, learning to navigate the healthcare system and how to effectively communicate your experience with healthcare professionals to actively manage healthcare decisions.
I have had the pleasure of working with a significant amount of very different individuals throughout my career. I am interactive, straight forward and nonjudgmental while providing a safe and caring environment for you to work in. The specifics of treatment and interventions is individualized and will be different for each person. Everyone experiences a unique journey throughout life and what is needed for one person may not be what’s needed for another.
I graduated Columbia University School of Social Work with a MSSW in mental health. I interned at an adult a adult acute inptatient behavioral heath unit in NYC and the Mental Health Association of Essex county. I worked in the Crisis ER and adult acute inptatient behavioral heath unit in the same general hospital in northern New Jersey. We often worked with the colleges and Universities in Northern NJ. It is common during the first 6-8 weeks into the first semester to experience a first mental health episode, navigating the healthcare system and coping with being newly diagnosed.

Online sessions are held using a HIPAA compliant platform that will need to be download. Telehealth is equally as effective as in office therapy and cuts out the time it takes to commute to an office. It’s also beneficial to those who are coping with a chronic health condition to minimize exposure to easily transmitted viruses.
In person sessions are not available.
If you feel these skills and approach would be beneficial to you and you’re willing to actively participate in the process, this includes homework, please reach out to discuss if we would be a fit.
